Where Tanya Cusan Espinosa is the first lady of salsa, Lubi is the self confessed Step-Father.

We think that it is a great shame that although Lubi has been promoting and djing latin jazz and salsa since 1982, he admits that he has no dancing skills. But never mind, there is still time. 

What he does do though is three-fold; club/gig promotion, international superstar DJ and CD compiler.

From 1982 (that's 25 years ago) Lubi has been promoting clubs, gigs, bands/artists and other DJs around the country and the world, the list is too long to mention here.

Lubi is probably best known for his DJ skills; he became Leeds' 1st salsa/latin music dj in 1986 (yes, that is 1986!) and is infamous now not just in Yorkshire but across in the country when it comes to salsa and latin music. He was a pioneer of Salsa Dura (80s), Cuban Timba (early 90s), latin hiphop (late 90s) and reggaeton (noughties to now) in the UK.

You can see Lubi spin the tunes at Viva Cuba, Leeds (weekly) and Juntos, Leeds (monthly) and Club Havana St.Albans (twice monthly). That's when he is not Djing across the globe; Los Angeles Salsa Congress, Womad Gran Canaria, V Festivals, Womad UK, Turkish Salsa Congress, Prague Salsa Congress, Club Mambo Copenhagen, Dublin Bacardi Latin Music Festival, La Linea Portugual, London Jazz Cafe, Amsterdam Latin Village Festival, Serbian Salsa Congress, Britfest, Leeds Festival just to name a few.
